From compact, crumbly hash to fine, powdery pollen, each sample reflects the artisanal craft of a different producer. The resins are obtained from trichomes and resin glands of Swiss and international hemp, then pressed using each artisan's proprietary techniques. About CannaSwissCup: The Legendary Competition from Switzerland

The story of CannaSwissCup begins in 1998, during a meeting of the Swiss Hemp Coordination. The founding idea was simple: let consumers vote for the best cannabis variety in Switzerland. The CannaSwissCup association was founded that same year and immediately organised the first cup, with six producers entering their outdoor strains. Samples were distributed on "jury cards" sold through Swiss hemp shops. The first awards ceremony took place in spring 1999 in Ittigen — an event that gave birth to the CannaTrade, today recognised as the oldest still-active hemp fair in the world. Over subsequent years, the competition grew steadily, reaching up to twelve competing outdoor varieties.

After several successful editions and a forced hiatus between 2005 and 2016 due to increased legal restrictions, the competition was reborn thanks to the emergence of legal CBD cannabis in Switzerland. Since the 2017/18 season, the CannaSwissCup has taken place annually, evaluating CBD flowers and hash against strict criteria: appearance, aroma, texture and overall organoleptic profile. A VIP jury of 39 cannabis experts assesses the samples during dedicated jury sessions before the public vote opens on cannaswisscup.ch.

The 2025/26 edition marks a turning point: for the first time, international producers join Swiss growers in the competition. VIP tastings were held in St. Légier, Zürich and Lugano. All CannaSwissCup products contain a THC level below 1%, in full compliance with Swiss legislation. The grand CannaSwissCup Awardshow will take place on 30 May 2026 during the CannaTrade at Halle 622 in Zürich.
