actiTube

Actitube was founded in 2001 in Berlin under the name "Tune smart smoking" after the founder received advice from a doctor friend in 1998 to filter smoke with activated carbon. Following initial scepticism due to feared THC losses, he was two years later completely convinced of the benefits: effective harmful substance reduction without effect loss. The idea emerged to offer all hemp enthusiasts filters that reduce harmful substances and improve taste. In 2014, the rebrand to actiTube occurred for trademark reasons. What began with few sceptical retailers is today available in practically every European headshop – in German-speaking countries even in tobacco shops, kiosks, and increasingly at petrol stations.

Actitube has always focused on fair selling prices and respectful treatment of all employees and business partners. Production takes place exclusively in Germany with good wages and full tax payment. Unlike imitators, Actitube communicates transparently when filters are less filled and informs about their reduced filter performance. Actitube doesn't print low-wage products with its own name. The brand is particularly proud to now completely forgo plastic: all activated carbon filters come with two ceramic caps and consist exclusively of natural raw materials. All packaging is cardboard, and where possible, Actitube works with local partners to avoid unnecessary transport. The filters are compostable but must be disposed of in residual waste after use due to the filtered harmful substances.

Actitube was the first company to address the uncultivated practice of filtering joints only with cardboard rolls, which reduced smoke temperature but let all harmful substances through. The Berlin brand continuously develops new filter sizes and shapes: from the classic 8mm Regular to the world's first 7mm Slim Filter to the latest conical Konik filter that prevents slipping. For all products, the maxim "Slim filters for the broad population" is paramount – high-quality filtration for every budget. Actitube consciously avoids social media channels to avoid feeding user data to data dealers while cannabis remains largely illegal, and relies on classic contact methods via email and telephone.
