How Does CBD Help Women with Menstruation Issues (PMS)
and Menopause

The hemp plant’s cannabinoids in general (incl. tetrahydrocannabinol or THC) as well as cannabidiol (CBD) in particular have potential health benefits for women, with little to no side-effects. Scientists hypothesize that the balancing, analgesic, anxiolytic and anti-inflammatory properties of CBD are helpful in treating the underlying causes of many of the symptoms common in both PMS and menopause. The benefits of CBD for women, whether in the form of CBD oil, hemp oil, or other hemp extracts, are promising although none of the results have been supported by clinical trials to date, whether in the United States or in any other country.
CBD is delivering is helping with women’s health through:

1. Its ability to regulate the endocannabinoid system (ECS)

CBD creates a state of balance within the body by interacting with the ECS and its receptors, helping to reduce many of the symptoms characteristic of PMS and menopause.

2. Its ability to regulate mood

Many women suffer from mood swings pre Menstruation. Scientists have found that because of the way that CBD interacts with the ECS and regulate endocannabinoid levels as well as modulate serotonin secretion (i.e. impacts the nervous system), it can be very effective in helping with anxiety and mood swings.

3. Its ability to regulate sleep

A surprising amount of women suffer from Sleep issues pre Menstruation or when they head into the Menopause. CBD has the ability to promote REM-sleep, the sleep-stage which is thought to especially benefit emotional health.

4. Its ability to reduce pain

A lot of women also report pain pre Menstruation. CBD also balances anandamide and FAAH, the endocannabinoids responsible for blocking (chronic) pain signals while regulating the CB2 receptors responsible for pain processing.
